About our Counseling Program
Excelsior’s school counselors play a unique and vital role in the education system, and their work has a significant impact on the students they work with. School counselors can positively influence students and help them get the most benefit from their social and educational experiences.
Our counseling staff is committed to providing support services for all students to enhance their academic, social, emotional and college and career growth. The goal of our counseling staff is to ensure all students develop the knowledge, attitudes, and skills that lead to behaviors that support academic achievement and social-emotional well-being. To support these goals, Excelsior’ counseling program provides the following services:
- Direct, short-term individual, group, and classroom counseling
- Crisis Intervention
- Conflict Resolution
- Positive Behavior Support
- Community Referrals and Resources
- CCAP and college dual-enrollment application process
- Work-permits
- College application and FAFSA workshops and assistance
- Transcript evaluation
- Personal Life Plan guidance
